Nate Blaweiss grew up in Sarasota, Florida, and has performed as a percussionist and/or guitarist at: the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Orange Bowl (Champs Sports), Bear Creek Music and Arts Festival, Busch Gardens Tampa, Van Wezel Performing Arts Center, Hollywood Christmas Parade, Floyd's Live, Sarasota Opera House, Bullwinkle's Saloon, Club Downunder, Motorworks Brewing, Gilligans Siesta Key, as well as various wind, marching, and jazz band competitions across the southeast.

Passionately involved in music since early in his upbringing, Nate played percussion and marching snare drum in high school and at Florida State, where his primary instrument was classical guitar. After some time with the Marching Chiefs Big 8 Drumline, he studied composition and improvisation with blues legend Professor Charles Atkins at Florida State. Nate was elected by his peers to lead the blues band ensemble under Sir Atkin's direction and was awarded a scholarship based on his leadership and musicianship in the ensemble. 

Nate studied Professional Media Composition with Thinkspace Education, earning his Master of Arts from the University of Chichester in 2018. Under the direction of Guy Michelmore, Nate studied film scoring and is already beginning to find composition work in the film and games industries. Notable inspirations include: Bear McCreary, Howard Shore, Manaka Kataoka, Aaron Copeland, David Wise, Phillip Glass, Ennio Morricone. 

In 2019, Nate joined 
Venice Theatre and now works as Resident Sound Designer. Nate has designed, mixed, and composed for many shows, some favorites including: Almost, Maine; Young Frankenstein; Ain’t Misbehavin’; Gypsy; and Xanadu. Nate has mixed for professional acts including: Norm Lewis, The Rocket Man Show, The Folk Legacy Trio, and Tom Becker. Find information about tickets and more at venictheatre.org
