NATE BLAWEISS is a multi-instrumentalist based in Sarasota, Florida, USA.
Nate's first inspiration to become a musician was in trying to echo the sounds of The Legend of Zelda and Sonic the Hedgehog on his family's piano as a young child in the 90’s. Nate eventually studied percussion and guitar, culminating with a BA in Music from Florida State University and an MA in Professional Media Composition from Thinkspace Education.
Nate has performed as a percussionist and/or guitarist at: the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Orange Bowl (Champs Sports), Doak Campbell Stadium, Bear Creek Music and Arts Festival, Busch Gardens Tampa, Van Wezel Performing Arts Center, Hollywood Christmas Parade, CoolToday Park, Floyd's Live, Sarasota Opera House, Bullwinkle's Saloon, Club Downunder, Motorworks Brewing, Gilligans Siesta Key, Waterside Lakewood Ranch, as well as various wind, marching, and jazz band competitions across the southeast.
Passionately involved in music since early in his upbringing, Nate played percussion and marching snare drum in high school and at Florida State, where his primary instrument was classical guitar. After some time with the Marching Chiefs Big 8 Drumline, he studied composition and improvisation with blues legend Professor Charles Atkins at Florida State. Nate was elected by his peers to lead the blues band ensemble under Sir Atkin's direction and was awarded a scholarship based on his leadership and musicianship in the ensemble.
Nate studied Professional Media Composition with Thinkspace Education, earning his Master of Arts from the University of Chichester in 2018. Under the direction of Guy Michelmore, Nate studied film scoring and is already beginning to find composition work in the film and games industries.
